Client Tax Advisor (Tax Accountant)

This position is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Tax Accountant or experienced Manager ready to step into a leadership role, providing strategic tax and financial advice. The Client Tax Advisor will oversee the Client Accountant Manager and serve as the primary liaison for clients’ financial and tax needs, focusing on growth strategies, compliance, and business improvements.


Core Responsibilities:

Client Strategy and Tax Services:

  • Lead and assist clients with growth strategies and financial planning.
  • Prepare and review income tax returns for businesses and business owners.
  • Generate and evaluate clients' monthly financial statements.

Proactive Advisory:

  • Offer recommendations for operational and process improvements based on in-depth knowledge of clients’ businesses.
  • Develop tax projections and offer tailored tax advisory services.

Training and Mentorship:

  • Train and mentor personnel in business operations, industry developments, and new analytical techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on complex tax and accounting issues.

Client Relations and Team Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their business and maintaining consistent communication.
  • Foster strong internal relationships to ensure high-quality client service and team synergy.


Interpersonal and Client Development Skills:

  • Demonstrate exceptional time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
  • Develop and sustain positive client relationships, understanding the nuances of their businesses and fostering trust.
  • Engage with peers and cultivate a network of business contacts.
  • Uphold firm ethics and exemplify professionalism consistently.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certifications:
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is mandatory.
  • Experience:
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in public accounting or consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of income tax preparation and project management.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Mail) and/or Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Attributes:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates integrity and dedication to teamwork.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative team approach.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Work Structure: Full-time, in-office position.
  • Bonus: Eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.
  • Health Benefits: Health reimbursement for out-of-pocket health expenses, up to the IRS annual limit of $6,150 for 2024 (coverage begins after 60 days).
  • Retirement Plan: Simple IRA with up to a 3% company match (eligibility starts after 60 days).
  • Paid Time Off: 80 hours of vacation time accrued after the 90-day probationary period.
  • Probation Period: Initial 90-day probationary period.
